This little mural got installed really quickly after it arrived. Sometimes these things take years, or months, but this one went up right away. It features the view from the home in California, with plants in the foreground from the garden there.
This is the annual Senior Class Tile for this year. I’ve done this for a high school in eastern Washington every year since about 2006. It’s always fun to see what they will come up with. They have a contest among the seniors and I put the winning design on a 8” x 8” tile for the lobby of the school.
I don’t post a picture of a job till it’s paid for- call me superstitious. This one was delivered about 6 weeks ago, but the check finally came today. I’ve made these tiles for these folks before. They order about every year or so. Nothing the least bit creative about this one. Just 135 decals. Anybody with a tile cutter and a kiln could do it. But I’m perfectly happy doing stuff like this.
I finally got to eat at this new restaurant in Seattle. Great food and my sign looks great in the dining room.
This is a sign I made for guy’s car collection. It’s based on a London subway exit sign. He says he’s going to put a frame on it, so I’ll probably be posting another shot of this one before too long.
I’ve been making logo tiles for this company for several years, but they changed to design. Before it was just the one word Stark in blue, but they added a second line in smaller type and a second color, so we decided to do them as a decal this time. Pretty easy!
About a month ago I posted pictures of the signs I made for a new restaurant opening soon in Seattle, Maripili Tapas Bar. I just finished these additional 12’ x 12” tiles for them. They will go into insets in the front of the bar, surrounded by fields of white tile. The restaurant features food based on the Galicia region of Spain, so it’s heavy on seafood and has the emblem of the Santiago pilgrimage route.
These two pieces will be the outdoor sign, front and back, for a new restaurant opening in the next few months on Capital Hill in Seattle. It will be in the Cafe Presse space, near Seattle U. This will be the first restaurant owned by Grayson Corrales, former pastry chef at Junebaby. It will feature the cuisine of Galicia, where her family originated. I just met with her today and we’re going to design some other tile accents for the interior of the space.
This sign went home just before my holiday sale. It’s 4’ x 3’, done on 3” x 6” staggered subway tile. It’s a replica of a London Underground sign and goes in a private car collection garage.
